See-cide

Horrors from the unknown reaches
Washed up on the local beaches;
Creatures  beyond space and time
Covered in effluvial grime
Lay on white sand like sea shells
These monsters spawned from cosmic hells.
The tourists stared and raved and feared
As more of these horrors appeared,
Their minds unequipped to bear
What was coming from Out There.
The mayor shut the beaches down
And gave the order to leave town
“We can’t live with what’s Out There
They can have it, for all I care.”
And so the creatures set up shop
As human population dropped
Neighborhoods emptied one by one
As from the things they tried to run.
Pretty soon the town was bare
And so the things, they did stay there.
They held beach parties, clambakes too
They sailed their yachts on waves of blue.
They named their new town “Kr’a’ah’ung”
Which means “Seabreeze” in ancient tongue.
These elder beings sure think it’s great
To have prime beachfront real estate.
It’s nice enough, if you should visit,
The weather’s nice and the view’s exquisite.
The local food is not that bad,

Though eating it might drive you mad.
